IN Ebonyi State House of Assembly, yesterday,  dropped a  commissioner-nominee, Mr. Jonah Egba, for failing to recite the National  Anthem and Pledge at a screening in the House.
The House, however, screened 27 other nominees.
 Egba, a former Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Housing, was also  disqualified for  inability to provide the original certificates of his  Post-graduate Diploma and Master’s.

Consequently, the  Majority Leader, Sam Nwali, (Ikwo East  Constituency), moved a motion that the nominee be dismissed and  confirmation withheld until he was able to furnish the House with the  originals of his certificates and recite the anthem.
Attempts by Mrs. Mabel Aleke, (Ohaukwu South), to arm-twist the House  to reconsider the motion did not sail through. When Princess Lilian  Igwe (Ivo Constituency), seconded the motion, the matter was unanimously  laid to rest.
