Four men were sentenced to death in Bahrain in connection with the killing of two police officers during anti-government protests, the Gulf kingdom's official news agency said Thursday.

President Jonathan says State of emergency is the best option for peace

PRESIDENT  Goodluck Jonathan has in his native village Otuoke, Bayelsa State explained the circumstances that would warrant a declaration of state of emergency in any part of the country, saying it would only be considered when every other option at peace has failed.

President Goodluck Jonathan collects Certificate of Return

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday at the collation center of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, received the official stamp to his victory at the last Saturday Presidential Election when the INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega presented him with the Certificate of Return, as required by law.
His running mate in the election and Vice President,  Namadi Sambo, was also presented with his Certificate of Return, according to law.

According to THISDAY Newspaper, the Northern Nigerians resident in Onitsha and Awka, Anambra State Nigeria commercial and administrative cities Tuesday fled to Asaba, the neigbhouring Delta State capital for safety as rumours of reprisal attacks following the post presidential election riots in some northern cities of Kano, Bauchi and Kaduna in which people of eastern extraction resident in these cities were feared to have fallen victims.
